Help Me Overcome My Unbelief

Hi guys,
I think it’s been a month now from the last time and I promised you before to give you an update on the outcome of my project (http://www.goodoldmemories.com/2011/08/worried-wednesday/)

Since the project didn’t make it on time (Sept 1 2011)… well a lot of “not-so-good” things happened…

Worst thing was I just almost got terminated, and now that the project is on pre-production stage here comes some more new projects in line up.

When i was in the MRT this morning, i took out my bible to read and i happened to be on the book of James now.

In my surprise, I heard God spoke to me… I clearly heard him tell me to “settle my unbelief”.

then I suddenly remember the story in Mark 9:14-29

Where a father brought his son to Jesus for healing.

to give you a little refresher on the story…

The boy was possessed by an evil spirt since he was a child, and whenever the evil spirit seizes the boy, the evil spirt throws the boy violently to the ground and oftens throw him into the fire or water to kill him.

In Mark 9:22 the father cried out to Jesus to help save his son.

“…. Have mercy on us and help us, if you can”

then Jesus told the boy’s father in verse 23

“What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.”

And Verse 24 this part is where i got strucked… the father reponds

The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”

then I came to realize the things I’ve been doin… in my heart I know and I do believe in God on who he is, what he can do, but deep down sometimes, or many times, I think I tend to ignore Him and try to work everything on my own strength due to fear.

I really pray today to God to help me overcome my fear, unbelief.

and must totally put my faith in Him that he will solve it for me plus hold on to him without doubting.

Hope this will encourage you on your walk with Jesus too.

Thanks for spending some time reading.

If you have anything in mind, please do feel free to share it.

Have a great day ahead.
